Text Box: Conserving natural resources...for our future.

A cloudy sky, slight breeze, and a small shower made for an Earth Day event that could not have gone any better.  At the Allen Community College Farm north of Iola, 90 fourth graders from Allen County enjoyed 10 stations of activities aimed at learning about our natural resources.  New this year were an expert from the Kansas Native Plant society who taught the students about plants in their back yards, and Ben Womelsdorf, Game Warden for Kansas Wildlife and Parks brought a live snake and talked about how our activities impact wildlife.  Between the weather and the wonderful stations, the day could not have gone any better.
